The Town of Burlington uses a system by Everbridge™ to communicate with its residents and businesses during an emergency. This system allows individuals to sign up to receive emergency alerts on a mobile, work, or home phone, and via text message and email. Residents can also choose to receive notifications about emergencies that may affect multiple important locations– home, workplace, school, parents’ home – as long as those locations are within the boundaries of the Town of Burlington’s service area.
It is important for the public to remember that the Everbridge emergency notification system is just one tool that is used to notify the public in the event of an emergency, and no one should rely on it exclusively for emergency information.
