Zoning Compliance Protects The Burlington We Love

Burlington's Land Use Office assists with zoning to be sure that regulations are followed and that buildings are in compliance.  We interact regularly with the Planning & Zoning Commission at meetings, review building permits to verify applications are in compliance with regulation and conduct inspections to be sure that projects in progress are meeting with established regulations.

The Certified Zoning Enforcement Official will review plans before submission to the Building Official to be sure activity is in compliance with regulations.  Zoning Enforcement also helps investigate and resolve compliance when a complaint or inquiry has been filed and reviews Declaratory Ruling and Regulated Activity from the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission permit applications. The Zoning Enforcement Official also approves most permits for construction.
