Burlington, Connecticut is a rural town and bound to have critters and animals around enjoying the same nature we do. They are part of our scenic landscape. From dogs to bears, however sweet or cute they may appear, we need to be cautious. For this reason the Animal Control office exists to help Burlington residents deal with the occasional stray animal when they appear.

Dog Licensing Reminder... Pet Owners Please Take Note:
All dogs 6 months of age and older are required to be licensed in the Town of Burlington. Renewal notices are mailed in June to those residents who previously registered their dog(s).
The 2012 Dog License registration period begins June 1st. Registration can be done by mail or in person at Town Hall. Office hours are M-Th 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and F 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Proof of current Rabies immunization is required. For first time dog licensing, a certificate of Neuter/Spay if applicable is required. The fee to license an unaltered dog is $19 and $8 for an altered dog. Checks payable to: Burlington Town Clerk, 200 Spielman Hwy, Burlington, CT 06013 NOTE: Late fees of $1/month/dog are assessed beginning July 1st for unlicensed dogs. If you have any questions or no longer own a previously registered dog, please call the Town Clerk's office.
A $75 fine per dog will be assessed by Animal Control Personnel to pet owners who do not license their dog(s).
